Why I Support Talerico

A PERSONAL STATEMENT BY THOMAS J. HENRY

TEXAS (October 21, 2026) — As the general election approaches, I want to be clear about where I stand: I wholeheartedly support Talarico for the United States Senate. My decision reflects our face-to-face conversation and my confidence in the positions he holds today.

My support for Talarico comes from a fundamental belief: government should serve people, not ideological extremes. Our families, our businesses, and our children deserve leaders focused on the country’s safety, stability, and opportunity. In our conversation, we discussed the importance of balance and leadership that considers the needs of everyday Americans. We do not have to agree on every issue for me to place my confidence in him. I am supporting the positions he holds today and the approach to leadership we discussed: putting the good of the country ahead of the divisions that hold it back.

My earlier contribution to Ken Paxton in the Republican primary against Senator John Cornyn reflected two considerations. I believed another term would extend an already lengthy tenure for Senator Cornyn, and I believed that a Paxton nomination would give Talarico a stronger opportunity to win the general election.

The controversies surrounding Paxton before his candidacy also led me to question whether he would be willing to debate Senator Cornyn, much less Talarico. As I learned more about Paxton and followed his conduct during the general-election campaign, my concerns deepened.

My meeting with Talarico reinforced my decision to stand wholeheartedly behind him. I place my trust in his current positions and in the principles we discussed.
