Grant Farmer

Attorney at Thomas J. Henry Law’s Austin Office

Mr. Grant Farmer received his Juris Doctorate from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law with a concentration in Sports Law. During law school, he was a Dean Merit’s scholar, an active member of Villanova Law’s Sports Law Society and authored a directed research paper on the NCAA’s amateurism model. He was selected and served as a Legal Fellow for the Jeffrey S. Moorad Center for the Study of Sports Law where he helped coordinate its Sports Law Symposium and its Game Day Case Competition. Mr. Farmer also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration, summa cum laude, from Mississippi State University with concentrations in Business Law, Economics and Marketing.

During law school, Mr. Farmer enjoyed diverse externship experiences in both location as well as specialty. He worked in the athletic compliance office at Villanova University where he developed rules and educational materials for Villanova University coaches and staff members. He externed with the athletic compliance office at Mississippi State University where he assisted with the development and implementation of its name, image and likeness policy. Mr. Farmer also externed with a law firm in Mississippi that specializes in real estate law, estate planning and probate proceedings where he drafted deeds, trusts and wills. 

Prior to joining Thomas J. Henry Law, he worked in the athletic risk management and compliance services office at the University of Texas at Austin. In that role, he drafted waivers to the Big XII Conference, reported institutional violations of NCAA policies, responded to Freedom of Information Act requests and developed a monthly compliance newsletter for the Texas athletics department. Mr. Farmer has experience with a major sports marketing firm in New York where he served as a legal researcher for the Office of General Counsel as well as experience at a personal injury law firm in Washington D.C. where he conducted client intake investigations and assisted with mediations and depositions.

Mr. Farmer’s education and experiences across the country motivated him to become an attorney to help clients navigate the judicial system and to ensure that they receive the compensation that they deserve. At Thomas J. Henry Law, his practice is primarily focused on motor vehicle accidents, premise liability claims and workplace accidents. He is a member of the Austin Bar Association as well as the Texas Young Lawyers Association.

A native of Starkville, Mississippi, Mr. Farmer currently practices in Thomas J. Henry Law’s Austin office. In his free time, he enjoys biking, reading, running, playing basketball and pickleball. An avid traveler, he has snorkeled in Iceland between tectonic plates, kayaked through caves in Belize, hiked to the Parthenon and toured the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, Greece. A champion for all, Mr. Farmer is dedicated to ensuring that every client he serves at Thomas J. Henry Law receives the best representation, advocacy and results.
