Licensed in both Texas and Louisiana, Selena brings a strong commitment to advocating for those who have been harmed due to the negligence of others. Before joining Thomas J. Henry Law, Selena clerked for Judge Gregory Doucet at the 27th Judicial District Court in Opelousas, Louisiana. She has extensive experience drafting motions and pleadings, conducting legal research, preparing for trial, and negotiating with insurance adjusters in pre-litigation matters.
Selena’s passion for law began at a young age, driven by the lack of Spanish-speaking attorneys in her community. As an immigrant herself, she was inspired to become a legal advocate and a resource for underserved Spanish-speaking individuals and families. She is fluent in Spanish and remains committed to serving her community with compassion and integrity.
She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University and earned her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, where she graduated cum laude. During law school, Selena was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in both Civil Procedure I and Advanced Legal Writing.
Selena is known by her colleagues as driven, attentive, and hard-working. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling with her husband, spending time with their two dogs, Nala and Kanelo, and cheering LSU sports.
