1 Dead, 3 Injured in Skidmore Collision
One man is dead and a mother and her two children injured following a crash along Highway 359 near Skidmore, Texas.
About the Fatal Skidmore Accident
According to KRIS-TV, 32-year-old David Salazar, Jr. of Corpus Christi is dead after his van was struck by a Dodge Durango on Highway 359, just west of Skidmore.
Reports indicate that the Durango, driven by 22-year-old Joanna Quiroz of Beeville, veered across the median before colliding with Salazar’s cargo van head-on. Salazar died at the scene.
It took rescue workers an hour to free Quiroz; she is reported to have sustained severe injuries.
Also injured in the accident were Quiroz’s two children. Oscar Vasquez, 2, was airlifted to Driscoll Children’s Hospital where he is listed in stable condition, and Audrey Vasquez, a 2-month-old, was transported to a hospital in Beeville.
Family members have stated that the baby will be okay.
