1 Dead in Houston Excavator Accident
A construction worker was killed in an excavator accident in Houston on Wednesday.
About the Houston Construction Accident
According to KPAC, the young man was part of a father-son team operating an excavator while demolishing a former restaurant on Hillcroft and Beverly Hill.
As they attempted to load the excavator onto a trailer, the younger man became trapped beneath the piece of heavy machinery and died.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.

- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration reports that 4,628 workers were killed on the job in 2012. This is equivalent to 89 deaths a week or more than 12 deaths every day.
- Of those, 4,175 deaths occurred in the private industry with 806 being attributed to construction accidents.

- Struck by object
- Electrocutions
