Confer Plastics Recalls Pool Steps For Entrapment & Drowning Risk
Confer Plastics announces a recall on its Pool Step Systems due to concerns of entrapment and drowning hazards.
Details of the Pool Steps Recall
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the pool steps were recalled because a child’s limbs could become entrapped in the side openings of the step systems, posing a drowning hazard.
Confer Plastics has received two reports in which children’s arms were caught in the side panel openings of the steps, which resulted in minor abrasions. No drownings have been reported.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled systems. They can contact Confer Plastics for a free repair kit, which includes additional panels that will prevent entrapment as well as instructions for installation.
If consumers have additional questions or concerns, Confer Plastics can be contacted at 800-635-3213 from 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Monday through Friday or online at www.conferplastics.com by clicking on “Curve Recall”.
