A new report on Delaware Online says state police have identified the man critically injured in a recent motorcycle accident in Bear, DE. Authorities say Trevis Dalton, 38 of New Castle remains in critical condition as they continue to investigate the crash.
Dalton was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for multiple traumatic injuries he sustained in the wreck. He was not wearing a helmet.
Burton, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained minor injuries but refused treatment. Also in her vehicle was a 2-year-old and 3-year-old child. Both children were properly restrained and not injured in the crash.
According to Delaware State Police, in 2012 there were 353 traffic accidents that involved a motorcycle. Of those crashes, 17 (5%) were fatal, including 12 motorcyclists who were not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Drugs and/or alcohol were factors in 12 of the motorcycle fatalities.
