The accident occurred when the tractor-trailer clipped a car carrying four passengers, causing it to flip over and roll off the road. The 8-month-old infant, who was not properly restrained, was ejected from the vehicle.

Police believe the baby landed in hay and rolled into the storm drain along the highway’s median, reports The Houston Chronicle. The baby only sustained a minor scratch on her forehead.

The four other vehicle occupants received treatment at a hospital for injuries. According to The Houston Chronicle, only the driver remains hospitalized. Police ticketed the 18-wheeler driver for improper and unsafe lane change.

Police say the child’s car seat was not installed properly nor secured in the seat. The Houston Chronicle reports that police did not cite the family.
