Electrician Dies in Idaho Falls Construction Accident

40-year-old Jeffrey Jaggar is dead following a construction accident at the new Longfellow Elementary School in Idaho Falls Monday.

About the Fatal Construction Accident

According to the East Idaho News, Jaggar was installing new equipment at Longfellow Elementary School when he suffered a severe injury.

He was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for treatment, but was pronounced dead later that night.

The events surrounding the accident have not been released. Jaggar was an employee for Wheeler Electric and a Idaho Falls native. He left behind a wife and a son.

Construction Accident Statistics

According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, 4,383 workers were killed on the job in 2012.

Roughly 3,945 of these fatalities occurred in private industry and 775 were attributed to construction accidents.
