Five Injured in Elk Grove School Bus Crash

FOX 40 reports that four students and the driver of an Elk Grove Unified School District bus were involved in a vehicle accident with an RV on October 14, 2015 in Sacramento County, California.

Key Details of the School Bus Accident

According to the school district, the bus containing only the four students and a driver was headed southbound on Highway 99 and exited at Cosumnes River Boulevard at approximately 2:20 p.m.  In an attempt to make a left turn, the school bus collided with an RV that was heading westbound.

Only one student declared suffering minor injuries; however, all five of the victims were taken to a local hospital as a precaution. The unidentified driver of the RV did not report any injuries.

The school bus sustained a significant amount of damage from the crash.

It has not been reported what caused the crash or whether alcohol or other controlled substances played a part. The accident is still under investigation.
