Florida Construction Worker Killed in Crane Accident
One man was killed in a construction crane accident that happened in Florida.
Details about the Fatal Construction Accident
ABC Action News is reporting that an apparent tire blowout is the cause of an accident in which the driver of a crane lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ditch off Interstate 75 on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the worker was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol report that the single vehicle accident happened at about 1 p.m. near mile marker 229 in Manatee County. The accident resulted in the closure of the entrance ramp from County Road 6 to Interstate 75.
The driver of the crane has not been identified, pending notification of next of kin. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
