The driver of the pickup truck, 25-year-old Richard Anthony Sepolio, drove his truck off the San Diego-Coronado Bridge. Underneath the bridge, crowds of motorcycle enthusiasts at Chicano Park gathered to begin the La Raza Run.

The pickup truck crushed a booth on the ground, pinning several people underneath. Four people died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles Times. Nine other people received injuries.
