Two men were sent to the hospital after a head-on collision in Galloway.
Multiple sources are reporting that two men have been sent to the hospital after they were rescued from their cars after an accident that happened on Route 9 and Great Creek Road early on Friday morning, according to the Galloway Township Police.
At around 2:30 a.m., 71-year-old Cornelius C. Coyle, of Galloway, was heading south on Route 9 in a Hyundai Elantra, when a Kia Soul, which was being driven by Robert Parker III, of West Creek, NJ, went over the center line and hit Coyle’s vehicle head on.
Parker’s vehicle overturned in the accident. Both of the drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Fire departments in Oceanville and Bayview rescued the two drivers from their vehicles and they were both airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division to be treated for their injuries.
An investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
