Handi-Craft has issued a recall for more than a half-million Dr. Brown’s Lovey pacifier and teether holders after determining the products pose a choking hazard to young children.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Handi-Craft has received at least 67 reports of ribbons on the products fraying, causing a snap at the end of the ribbons to detach. Once detached, the snap poses a choking hazard to infants and young children.
Currently, the recall affects 590,000 individual products. The recalled items were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, K-Mart, H-E-B, Toys R Us, Babies R Us, Wal-Mart, and other retail stores nationwide. Products were also sold online through Amazon.com.
Recalled units were sold between August 2015 and March 2018 for about $10.
Consumer should take the recalled holders away from young children and contact andi-Crafts for further instruction on how to receive a replacement product or refund.
