Man Killed in Baytown Drunk Driving Accident

A suspected drunk driver was arrested last Saturday after the driver allegedly caused a fatal accident in Baytown.

Details about the Fatal Drunk Driving Accident

ABC 13 News is reporting an alleged drunk driver was arrested after he caused a fatal multi-vehicle accident in Baytown on the Baytown East Freeway.

The accident happened at about 6 a.m. on Saturday morning on the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Gelhorn.

In the chain reaction accident, a 30-year-old man was killed when another driver hit his vehicle, forcing it into the concrete barrier. According to police, the vehicle rolled several more times before coming to a complete stop.

The driver then fled the scene but did not get far. Police found the man at a Jack-in-the-Box not far from the scene of the accident. According to investigators, the vehicle had been wrecked and it appeared as though the man had been drinking and driving. So far, the man has been charged with public intoxication.

Aside from the drunk driver’s vehicle, there were two other cars that were involved in the accident, including an SUV and the truck that collided with the SUV while trying to avoid the accident that ended up killing the 30-year-old victim.

The circumstances of the accident currently remain under investigation.
