Motorcyclist Suffers Fatal Injuries in Crash with SUV

According to The Oakland Press, a man on a motorcycle died after a crash involving an SUV in Highland Charter Township, Michigan, on Sunday evening.

Alcohol Not a Factor

The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of West Highland Road and North Duck Lake Road at around 8:17 p.m. local time. Police say a 60-year-old man on a BMW motorcycle was traveling eastbound on West Highland Road when an SUV driver attempted a left turn in front of him.

The Oakland Press reports that the man on the motorcycle crashed into the side of the SUV and sustained serious injuries. The man received treatment at McLaren Oakland Hospital but died from his injuries.

The 64-year-old woman driving the SUV did not suffer injuries in the wreck. The motorcyclist wore a helmet at the time of the wreck, according to The Oakland Press.

Crash reconstruction units are investigating the scene and the circumstances of the accident.
