One Killed in Highway 385 Accident
Authorities are investigating a fatal accident that left one man dead in West Texas on Highway 385 on Saturday.
Details About the Odessa Accident
According to the Odessa American, the accident happened in Ector County along U.S. Highway 385 approximately two miles away from Gardendale, Texas.
On Saturday night, a 1988 Honda 2SS was being driven by 35 year-old Seminole resident, Jacob Elijah Crothers, southbound down Highway 385. Hereford resident Manuel Escobedo Lopez, 55, was also driving southbound in a 2006 Kenworth that had a trailer attached.
Lopez was turning east onto a county road when Crothers’ Honda smashed into the back of the Kenworth. Crothers was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:17PM and was reported as wearing a seatbelt. Lopez was not injured.
Details were released by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The fatal accident is being investigated by Trooper Marco Caro of Odessa, Texas.
