Details of the Fatal Accident
Police say Edward Stephenson, 29, traveled northbound on Robert C. Jackson Drive when he attempted to pass another vehicle. During the pass attempt, Stephenson traveled into the southbound lanes and into oncoming traffic, striking another vehicle head-on.

Trinity Wallace, 43, the driver of the vehicle first hit by Stephenson, died in the crash after being airlifted to University of Tennessee Hospital. A 14-year-old passenger in Wallace’s vehicle received treatment at UT Hospital. Stephenson and a 22-year-old passenger suffered from injuries and received treatment at Blount Memorial Hospital and UT Hospital, respectively.
Ryan McKenzie, the driver of the third vehicle, did not receive injuries in the crash. The investigation into the circumstances of the wreck are still ongoing, according to The Daily Times.
