Texas Man Killed in Trucking Accident Near Carlsbad, New Mexico
New Mexico State Police are investigating a fatal accident involving a pickup truck and a semi-truck near Carlsbad.
Details of the Carlsbad Trucking Accident
According to the Carlsbad Current Argus, the crash occurred on October 3 on Eddy County Road 798 around 6:30 am.
Police say a pickup driven by 19-year-old Jaime Barbosa of Kilgore Texas was traveling northbound on CR 798 when he crossed into the southbound lanes and collided with a truck on the south shoulder. Barbosa was transported to Carlsbad Medical Center where he died.
The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old man, was not injured in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation, though alcohol is not suspected to be a factor.
