Texas Woman Killed in New Mexico Car Crash
Albuquerque authorities are saying that a Texas woman has died as a result of a car crash in New Mexico.
Details about the Accident that Killed the Texas Woman
CBSDFW is reporting that Bernalillo County Sheriff’s officials have said that 50-year-old Carolyn Crossland of Tyler, Texas was pronounced dead at the scene on Wednesday morning. Her husband was also in the vehicle and suffered minor non-life threatening injuries.
The woman’s husband, Herbert Crossland told investigators that he was driving on a flat tire as he and his wife were leaving the Route 66 Casino on Interstate 40. Crossland was trying to get to Albuquerque on the flat tire by driving slowly around 20 miles per hour with the vehicle’s hazard lights on.
Deputies report that a car that was being driven by an Oklahoma man traveling at the posted 75 mph speed limit hit the back end of the Crosslands’ car. The Oklahoma mad said that he didn’t see the car in front of him because the sun was in his eyes.
As of right now, authorities have said that no charges will be filed.
