According to WCPO, a total of six people suffered from injuries following a three-car accident on Thursday night in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Speed May Have Played Role in Crash

Jaron C. Pez, 22, and three other teenage passengers traveled south on Lakeview drive in Winton Woods Park at around 8:39 p.m. local time. Pez crossed over the center line while navigating a curve and struck a vehicle nearly head-on. Both cars started to rotate on the roadway, striking one another again, according to WCPO.

A third vehicle approached the incident and crashed into Pez’s car, pushing it off the road. WCPO reports that Pez required mechanical extrication to be rescued from his vehicle. The occupants of Pez’s car and the driver of the car he initially struck received treatment at a local hospital.

The third vehicle’s driver did not sustain any injuries in the crash. Pez was airlifted to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with serious injuries, according to WCPO. The occupants of his vehicle suffered only minor injuries.

Officials do not believe alcohol played a role in the wreck, but speed may have contributed to the initial collision. The crash remains under investigation.
