Update: Three Dead in Three Rivers School Bus Accident
The Texas Department of Safety has confirmed that three people have died in a collision between a Three Rivers Independent School District bus and a van transporting oil field workers.
Details of the Three Rivers School Bus Accident
- According to KRIS-TV, a collision between a school bus and an oil field services vehicle in the Eagle Ford Shale area has left three oil field workers dead and four others hospitalized.
- Reports indicate that the school bus was traveling eastbound on Highway 72 when it was rear ended by the service van as it slowed to enter the Lago Vista RV Park.
- Of the twelve children on the bus, seven were taken to the hospital in private vehicles – their condition is currently unknown.
- The names of the diseased have not yet been released. According to Three Rivers ISD Superintendent Kenneth Rohrbach, it is believed that the driver of the van may have fallen asleep behind the wheel.
