UPS Driver Killed in Trucking Accident

A UPS truck driver was killed in an accident that happened Tuesday morning.

Details about the Fatal UPS Truck Accident

NBC Chicago News is reporting that a truck driver was killed when a semi-truck slammed into a median wall on the Tri-States tollway early Tuesday morning in a suburb of Western Springs.

According to police, just after 2:30 a.m., the driver of the truck was heading south on lanes of Interstate 294 near 47th street when the vehicle hit the median and then flipped over. Video of the accident showed the cab of the UPS truck be completely demolished in the accident before the driver was pulled from the wreckage and pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

UPS Freight confirmed that the driver was an employee of the company. At this time, the coroner’s office has not yet released the identity of the man who was killed in the accident.
