Weather Channel Meteorologist Dead after Parking Garage Accident
A meteorologist for The Weather Channel has died after crashing his vehicle into a parking garage in Atlanta on Sunday.

Fox 13 News Memphis is reporting that a man died on Sunday after crashing his Volkswagen into a parking garage at Midtown’s Colony Square Mall in Atlanta. The man was identified as Nicholas Wiltgen, according to the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The victim was the senior digital meteorologist with The Weather Channel, according to Cameron Clayton, who is the president of product and technology at the Atlanta-based media organization.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident after he crashed into a nearby hotel and injured another person.
Witnesses say they saw the Volkswagen traveling at a very high rate of speed before hitting the wall at the parking garage, according to information released by Atlanta police and fire officials.
The Volkswagen then went through the wall and about another 20 feet into the adjacent West Atlanta Midtown, where it hit a person in a storage area at around 5:30 p.m. The person was identified as a hotel worker and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses who saw the accident pulled the driver out of the car and unsuccessfully attempted CPR, according to fire department spokesperson Cortez Stafford.
