A woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle on a bridge in Missouri.
According to local police, the accident happened on Thursday along the Daniel Boone Bridge that carries traffic on Interstate 64 over the Missouri River, and connects St. Louis County with St. Charles County. The victim in the pedestrian accident has since been identified as Stephanie Phung of O’Fallon, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has stated that the accident happened when Phung’s vehicle hit a tire that was in the roadway and began to drag it. She stopped her vehicle about halfway across the bridge to get out of her car to examine the vehicle.
