Worker Killed in El Paso Construction Accident
A contract worker was killed Tuesday morning as a result of an industrial accident at an El Paso construction site.
About the El Paso Construction Accident
According to KFOX-TV, the accident occurred at what is the future site of the William Beaumont Army Medical-Center near the intersection of Loop 375 and Montana Avenue.
Officials confirmed that a contract worker employed by Midwest Steel Inc. was pronounced dead around 10 am though details concerning the man’s death were not released.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is investigating the accident. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

- OSHA recorded 4,405 work-related deaths in 2013 – this averages to 85 deaths a week or more than 12 deaths every day.
- 3,929 of those deaths occurred in private industry, and 796 deaths were linked to construction accidents.
