Future UT Student Lawrence Robinson Awarded Thomas J. Henry Leadership Scholarship
Thomas J. Henry would like to congratulate Mr. Lawrence Robinson, our Fall 2018 recipient of the Thomas J. Henry Leadership Scholarship. Mr. Robinson is a recent graduate of Red Oak High School and will be attending The University of Texas at Austin in the fall.
As part of the Thomas J. Henry Leadership Scholarship application process, Mr. Robinson was asked to submit an essay explaining the importance of leadership while also sharing his own leadership experience. Mr. Robinson chose to detail the founding of the Hawk Male Leadership club – a school club started by Mr. Robinson and fellow students to inspire high school males to pursue community service.
Over the course of Mr. Robinson’s senior year, the Hawk Male Leadership club grew from a few members to a room full of students with diverse backgrounds and interests ready to serve their school and community.
Mr. Robinson also mentored an elementary school student who was the student council president for his 5th-grade class. With Mr. Robinson’s help, the student was able to implement some of the same initiatives Mr. Robinson had with the Hawk Male Leadership club at the elementary school level.
Mr. Robinson will be entering University at Texas at Austin this fall as a pre-pharmacy major.. We are confident that Ms. Robinson will continue to find success in all of his endeavors and look forward to hearing about his future accomplishments and continued leadership.
