Thomas J. Henry Presents “San Antonio Marches: Keepers of the Dream” Documentary
In recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, San Antonio attorney Thomas J. Henry has partnered with Sinclair Broadcasting Group to present “San Antonio Marches: Keepers of the Dream.” The documentary’s release coincides with the 30th Annual San Antonio Martin Luther King, Jr. March, which Mr. Henry also sponsors, and explores the march’s significance and history over the past three decades.
ABOUT THE MLK MARCH AND DOCUMENTARY
Every year, thousands of San Antonio residents join with community leaders for what is one of the largest gatherings in the country honoring the life and accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Beginning at Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, people from all over the city and from diverse backgrounds lock arms before marching 2.7-miles to Pittman Sullivan Park where speakers share Dr. King’s message.
The moving display of peace and solidarity has prevailed for 30 years, rain or shine, attracting roughly 300,000 participants.
A new 1-hour documentary presented by Thomas J. Henry seeks to capture impact this march has had on the San Antonio community and the nation while providing insight on Dr. King’s message through interviews with historians and civil rights leaders. “San Antonio Marches: Keepers of the Dream” is available free to the public.
