Authorities are investigating an 18-wheeler accident in San Antonio that resulted in a fire and long traffic delays.
According to KSAT, the crash occurred at around 4:15 am Friday when the driver of the 18-wheeler barreled into a construction zone in the median of Interstate 10 near Foster Road.
The cab of the truck caught fire after the collision, but the driver was able to escape safely. He told reporters he was unable to see the road because it was too dark.
SAPD said debris, oi, and diesel had spilled onto the main lanes of the interstate, and traffic was closed as the scene was cleared.
A second vehicle also crashed at the scene, but the details surrounding the incident are still unclear.
The accident remains under investigation.
