4 Pedestrians Injured in West Oak Cliff DWI Crash, Driver Arrested

Police in Dallas arrested a drunk driver on September 6 after he struck four pedestrians in West Oak Cliff.

Details of the West Oak Cliff Drunk Driving Crash

According to FOX 4 News, the crash occurred around 1 a.m. on West Davis Street near North Barnett Avenue.

Initial reports indicate four pedestrians were crossing West Davis when they were struck by a white pickup truck driven by 32-year-old Carlos Elizondo.

Three of the injured people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Fortunately, their injuries were not considered life-threatening. The fourth pedestrian was treated at the scene.

Elizondo was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Elizondo’s passenger, whose name was not immediately available, was arrested on unrelated charges.

• The majority of fatal DWI crashes occurred between the hours of 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
• DWI fatality rates were highest among males between 19 and 35 years old.
