Baylor Student Killed While Biking with Girlfriend
According to the Waco Tribune, a Baylor student was struck and killed by a vehicle while riding his bike on Thursday night.

David Grotberg, 19, was riding his bike with his girlfriend near the 3100 Block of Franklin Avenue at around 10:00 p.m. when the accident occurred. According to police, a white vehicle speeding in the same direction as the couple crashed into Grotberg’s bike and drove off.
First responders provided aid to Grotberg, but he succumbed to his injuries at Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center. According to the Waco Tribune, Grotberg’s girlfriend was not injured in the crash.
The Waco Police Department is actively searching for more information on the vehicle that killed the Baylor University sophomore.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 743 pedalcyclists were killed in motor vehicle traffic crashes in 2013. In addition,

- Sixty-eight percent of all pedalcyclists who died in motor vehicle crashes in 2013 died in urban area crashes.
- Most pedalcyclist fatalities occurred at non-intersections (57%) in 2013.
