Church Bus Involved in Head-On Collision in Concan, Multiple Fatalities Reported

Officials are reporting multiple deaths following a head-on collision between a church bus and a pickup truck in Concan, Texas.

Details of the Concan Bus Accident

According to FOX News, the crash occurred on Highway 83 near Garner State Park, about 80 miles west of San Antonio. First responders arrived at the scene around 2 pm.

Witnesses reported a “gruesome scene” and stated the church bus was carrying “older passengers.” One witness, Rick Ballesteros, stated there were possibly seven fatalities in the crash.

In a statement released through social media, the First Baptist New Braunfels church said the bus was carrying several of their senior members back from a retreat.

Northbound lanes of Highway 83 are closed south of Garner State Park as authorities investigate and clear the scene. The Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office said the lanes will be closed for several hours.
