CRF Frozen Foods LLC, whose frozen vegetables are sold at Costco, announced the recall of 15 different products due to a possible Listeria contamination.
According to KTVA, the Listeria was discovered through the routine testing done by state health officials in Ohio.
According to CRF Frozen Foods spokesman, Listeria monocytogenes were found to be present in a lot of individually quick frozen organic sweet peas as well as the sweet cut corn.
Although no illnesses have been reported, the recall is precautionary and consumers are urged to not consume these products, and anyone who has purchased them can either take them back to the store for a refund, or discard of them.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, symptoms include fever, muscle aches, diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions.
In pregnant women, the disease can also lead to stillbirths as well as a premature delivery, and newborns can also be at risk for a life threatening infection.
