A Travis County deputy was injured last week when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while directing traffic in a school zone.
Last week on October 20, KXAN News reported that there is an ongoing investigation to identify the driver responsible for hitting a police deputy. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is the main force leading the search to locate both the car and driver in question.
Around 9:21 a.m., an on-duty deputy was hit while directing traffic on McNeil Drive in a school zone. The deputy was struck after walking into an empty lane to stop a different car. Another driver then swiveled around and hit the deputy before speeding off.
Travis County officials suspect the car in suspect is a silver Lexus. The deputy was transported to a nearby hospital after being hit, but has since been released with minor injuries.
