Driver Causes Chain-Reaction Crash Involving Corpus Christi Police Vehicle

Police are investigating a chain-reaction accident along SPID involving a CCPD vehicle that occurred Thursday night.

Details of the Corpus Christi Chain-Collision

According to KRIS-TV, the crash occurred on SPID near Ayers Street around 8:40 pm Wednesday.

Police say a CCPD supervisor was assisting a separate accident involving two vehicles with a third vehicle crashed into the back of another vehicle that was stopped at the scene. The impact forced the fourth vehicle into the CCPD supervisor’s vehicle.

Police said the supervisor did have his emergency lights on at the time of the accident. The supervisor was uninjured.

Four lanes of SPID were closed between the Weber and Ayers exits. Injuries were reported, but fortunately, none are considered life-threatening.
