Frigidaire Rear-Controlled Ranges Recalled Due to Electrical Shock Hazard

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Electrolux Group have announced a recall of select Frigidaire rear-controlled ranges due to a potential electrical shock hazard. The issue involves the control panel detaching from the unit, which could pose a serious risk of injury.

Products Affected:

  • Brand: Frigidaire
  • Model: Rear-controlled ranges
  • Manufactured: October 2023 – November 2023
  • Model and Serial Numbers: See full list of recalled models on Frigidaire’s website.

Hazard:

The control panel on the ranges can detach, exposing electrical components and creating a risk of shock and electrocution.

What to Do:

1. Immediately stop using the recalled range. Unplug the unit and do not use it until it has been repaired.

2. Check your model and serial number. See the list provided by Electrolux to see if your range is affected. You can find the model and serial number on a label in the drawer below the oven.

3.Contact Electrolux Group immediately. They will arrange for a free repair or professional installation of a new control panel. You can reach them at 877-232-6822.

Additional Information:

  • No injuries have been reported, but the recall is being issued out of an abundance of caution.
  • About 1,800 ranges are affected in the United States and 130 in Canada.
  • The ranges were sold at Lowe’s and other appliance stores nationwide and online from October 2023 to December 2023 for between $790 and $1,050.
