GITI Recalls Nearly 400,000 Primewell Tires
GITI Tire USA has announced a recall for more than 394,000 Primewell tires after determining the sidewalls can crack and lose air after limited use, increasing the risk of a crash.
About the Primewell Tire Recall
According to the Detroit News, the recall covers certain Valera Touring II replacement passenger tires.
The company says that a crack can develop in the lower sidewall of the tires after several months of use. This can cause the tires to lose integrity and/or lose air, resulting in an increased risk of tire failure and crash.
GITI added that the cracks often develop on the inside of the tire, opposite of the serious number, making the cracks difficult to detect.
The recall is expected to start July 20, and GITI will provide replacement tires for affected consumers for free.
