One person is dead and another person has been arrested following a drunk driving accident in Austin that involved six vehicles.
According to KXAN, a multiple vehicle crash on the 6800 block of southbound Interstate 35 resulted in the death of one person. The initial six vehicle wreck occurred on Sunday, October 11 around midnight near William Cannon Drive. A semi-truck is believed to have been one of the six vehicles involved.
Austin, Texas authorities have reported that a 39-year-old Amber Thomas has been charged and arrested for intoxication manslaughter in response to the wreck. She has been transported to Travis County Jail without a current bond set. The victim killed has not yet been identified. Also, the incident shut down the freeway for several hours.
