200,000 Jogging Strollers Subject of Recall

This recall involves jogging strollers sold under the brand names Instep Safari, Instep Grand Safari, Instep Flight, Schwinn Turismo, Schwinn Discover Single, and Double Occupant Swivel.

About the Jogging Stroller Recall

According to KVAL News, the Consumer Product Safety Commission and Pacific Cycle announced that more than 200,000 jogging strollers with a swiveling front wheel are now subject to a safety recall. Pacific Cycle has received 132 reports of the front wheel becoming loose or unstable.

Consequently, 215 injuries were reported. These included head injuries, sprains, lacerations, bumps, bruises and abrasions. The brand names involved in the recall are stated as the following: Instep Safari, Instep Grand Safari, Instep Flight, Schwinn Turismo and Schwinn Discover Single and Double Occupant Swivel.

Additional Information about the Recall

  • The strollers were sold at retailers nationwide and also online at Amazon.com, Target.com, Toys-R-Us.com, Walmart.com, and other online retailers from January 2010 through June 2016 costing between $130 and $350.
  • As a remedy, the company is offering owners of the stroller a repair kit, in addition to video instructions on how to make the repair.
