Man Hit and Killed by FedEx Truck
The Dallas Morning News is reporting that a man was hit and killed by a FedEx truck while he was attempting to cross the highway in Fort Worth late Tuesday night.
Details about the Pedestrian Accident in Fort Worth
According to police, the accident happened at about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night on U.S. Highway 287 near Wilbarger Street.
The victim, who has yet to be identified by police, died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the FedEx 18-wheeler stopped at the scene of the accident and no charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the truck.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration:
- Fatalities involving large trucks increased by 4 percent from 2011-2012.
- The majority of accidents involving large trucks involved impacts to the front end of the trucks.
- Nearly 78 percent of all fatal accidents involving large trucks happened on a weekday.
