Man Killed in San Antonio Hit-and-Run
Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that left a man dead on San Antonio’s Northeast Side.
Details of the Fatal Hit-and-Run
According to KSAT, a man was walking in the 6400 block of Perrin Beitel Road, near Wurzbach Parkway and Loop 410, when he was struck by a vehicle around 9:20 pm. The victim was not named, but police did say he was 63-years-old and is believed to be homeless.
The vehicle involved was described as a red sedan. The driver did not stop to render aid and fled southbound from the scene. Police say the suspected vehicle will likely have front-end damage.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the accident or the driver involved to contact SAPD at 210-207-7273. The driver will likely face a charge of failure to stop and render aid.
Southbound lanes of Perrin Beitel Road were closed for two hours as the scene was cleared.

Nearly half of all pedestrian deaths involve alcohol impairment in either the driver and/or the pedestrian involved. Most pedestrian deaths also occur after dark.
