One Dead, Second Person Airlifted to Hospital After Plainview Crash
One person is dead and a second is seriously injured after a two-car crash in Plainview Saturday morning.
Details of the Fatal Plainview Accident
According to Everything Lubbock, officers responded to a car accident at 2800 Dimmitt Road near the Interstate 21 East frontage road shortly after midnight on June 19.
Preliminary reports suggest a Dodge Challenger failed to yield at the intersection of Yonkers and Dimmitt Road and struck a tractor-trailer.
The driver of the Dodge was transported to Covenant Hospital in Plainview before being airlifted to Lubbock and placed in intensive care. A passenger in the Dodge was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured
The accident remains under investigation.

- An additional 151,000 people were injured in trucking accidents in 2018, marking a 2-percent increase over 2017.
- Texas led the country in trucking accident deaths with 664 fatalities recorded. Texas was followed by California with 352 deaths and Florida with 321 deaths.
