Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Truck on Loop 410 in San Antonio
According to KSAT News, early Tuesday morning, October 20, a victim was struck and killed by a pickup truck while trying to walk across Loop 410 around the Culebra Road exit.
About the Loop 410 Pickup Truck Accident
San Antonio police report that the pedestrian accident happened sometime around 4 a.m. at the 7300 block of Loop 410. Authorities believe that the victim was attempting to walk through the southern central lanes of Loop 410 before being hit by a Ford F-250.
Reports from further investigation detail that the driver apparently was not aware of the victim crossing the street on foot. The driver also claims it would have been impossible to avoid the man whom they could not see in the first place. Authorities have not pressed any charges against the driver despite indications that the driver did not stop to check on the victim after hitting and killing him. Charges are not expected to be filed either.
The victim was killed instantly when he was struck. His identity has not been revealed to the public yet. A brief highway shut down occurred but has since been lifted.
