Pedestrian Killed in Suspected Drunk Driving Crash
A 27-year-old man was killed Thursday morning after being struck by a car in northwest Dallas. Police suspect alcohol to be a factor.
About the Fatal Dallas Pedestrian Accident
According to WFAA, the man was crossing Hudnall Street, near Maple Avenue and Denton Drive, when he was hit by a 2021 Toyota Tacoma. The incident occurred around 1:30 am.
Police say the Tacoma was traveling at a high rate of speed and determined the driver, Richard Alexander Rojas, 27, was intoxicated at the time of the crash.
The victim, who was not identified, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries. He later died in surgery.
Rojas is expected to be charged with intoxication manslaughter.

- One person was killed in a car crash every 2 hours 15 minutes
- One person was injured in a car crash every 2 minutes 34 seconds
- A reportable crash occurred every 1 minute 7 seconds
