Toyota Recalls 300,000 Sienna Vehicles for Rollaway and Crash Hazard

Toyota announced Wednesday that it will recall 300,000 Sienna minivans due to a defect which could cause the vehicles to rollaway and increase the risk of a crash.
About the Sienna Rollaway Recall
According to reports, Toyota has stated that grease inside the shift lever assembly could transfer to other internal components. This could lead to the vehicle rolling away when it should be in park, thereby increasing the risk of accident or injury.
Toyota will repair the affected vehicles at no cost to the owner, and affected customers will be notified by mail by mid-December.
Vehicles Affected by the Toyota Sienna Recall
Toyota has included the following model years in the rollaway recall:
- 2005 Toyota Sienna
- 2006 Toyota Sienna
- 2007 Toyota Sienna
- 2009 Toyota Sienna
- 2010 Toyota Sienna
All recalled vehicles were sold in the United States.
