Toyota announced Wednesday that it will recall 300,000 Sienna minivans due to a defect which could cause the vehicles to rollaway and increase the risk of a crash.
According to reports, Toyota has stated that grease inside the shift lever assembly could transfer to other internal components. This could lead to the vehicle rolling away when it should be in park, thereby increasing the risk of accident or injury.
Toyota will repair the affected vehicles at no cost to the owner, and affected customers will be notified by mail by mid-December.
