United Exchange Corp. Recalls Contaminated Eye Wash

United Exchange Corp. is issuing a voluntary recall on its Family Care brand eye wash/eye irrigation solution due to microbial contamination. Use of a contaminated product can potentially cause a sight-threatening eye infection.

About the United Exchange Corp. Eye Wash Recall

According to the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the use of the contaminated eye wash solution could be “calamitous” and cause a serious infection of the eye.

Distributors and customers are being notified to return or dispose of the recalled eye wash. Consumers and businesses should stop using and selling the recalled Family Care brand eye wash solution immediately.

United Exchange Corp. learned of the contamination through a product complaint. To date, no illnesses have reportedly been linked to the recalled Family Care brand eye wash. Consumers with questions regarding this recall should contact the Customer Service Department at 800-814-8028. In addition, consumers can contact their physician if they have additional questions about the recalled eye wash.

Description of the Recalled Eye Wash

The Family Care eye wash was distributed nationwide to wholesale and retail facilities. The eye wash consists of a purified water solution packaged in 4 oz (118mL) bottles. It is used to relieve eye irritation, stinging, or itching by flushing the eye.
