According to KOIN, a 57-year-old woman died from injuries after her car was hit by a truck on the interstate near Cottage Grove, Oregon, on Tuesday afternoon.

Details of the Fatal Trucking Crash

Janine B. Cook, 57, was driving her car south on Interstate 5 in the slow lane when it all of a sudden came to a complete stop near milepost 171. A box truck coming from behind rear-ended Cook’s vehicle at around 1:00 p.m. local time.

KOIN reports that the box truck attempted to avoid the woman’s car but was unable to. Emergency crews found Cook’s mangled car off the interstate and pronounced her dead at the scene.
