Woman Arrested Month After Fatal San Antonio Motorcycle Accident

A woman has been arrested for a fatal hit-and-run motorcycle accident that left one man dead on San Antonio’s West Side in May.

Details of the Fatal San Antonio Motorcycle Accident

According to KSAT, 35-year-old Racine Delgado is charged with failure to stop and render aid resulting in death for her role in the May 3 motorcycle accident. The accident occurred in the 1700 block of South General McMullen.

The motorcyclist, 53-year-old Jerry Alfaro, was traveling southbound when he was struck by a black Acura MDX. Police say the driver of the Acura, identified as Delgado, made a U-turn and fled from the scene.

When interviewed by police, Delgado claimed her car had been stolen by a woman she identified as “Victoria Savage.” Police found the vehicle abandoned in a parking lot in the 7100 block of Highway 90 West. She told police she was unaware the vehicle was stolen until she was notified by an employee at a nearby tattoo shop. Employees at the shop denied knowing Delgado.

Delgado then changed her story claiming she had reported her vehicle as stolen; however, surveillance footage from two cameras showed a woman matching Delgado’s description diving the vehicle and pulling into the parking lot. Cell phone records provided further evidence of Delgado’s location at the accident and the parking lot where the vehicle was found.

Delgado was booked on Thursday evening with a bond set at $150,000.
