Austin Hit-and-Run Kills One at Burnet Road
Austin authorities are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that left one person dead on Halloween.
About the Hit-and-Run Incident
According to Fox 7 Austin News, a North Austin accident left a pedestrian dead at the scene. The Austin Police Department have deemed the crash as a hit-and-run crime. The incident occurred at the intersection of Burnet Road and Research Boulevard.
Emergency services arrived to the scene around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. A red vehicle speeding north on Burnet Rd. is the prime suspect at the moment.

- Single vehicle, run-off the road crashes resulted in 1,161 deaths in 2019. This was 32.16% of all motor vehicle traffic deaths in 2019.
- In 2019 there were 731 people killed in crashes occurring in intersections or related to an intersection.
- There were 600 people killed in head-on crashes in 2019.
- There were no deathless days on Texas roadways in 2019.
