High Speed Chase Turns into Three Car Crisis
An 18-year-old male has been arrested after causing a multiple vehicle crash in New Braunfels during a high speed police chase.
About the Three Vehicle Crash
NEWS 4 SA reports the crash occurred on October 28 at around 6:15 p.m. Authorities spotted a white, stolen Dodge Ram and attempted to pullover the driver in the 100 block of Rosa Parks Drive. The driver then sped off on FM 725 in an attempt to avoid being arrested by police.
The chase ended in a crash at the intersection of FM 275 and Union Wine Road when the driver slammed into a parked Ford Escape. This then led to a chain reaction of crashes as the Escape slid into incoming lanes of traffic and a blue Dodge Ram soon crashed into the Escape.
The drive of the Dodge Ram then attempted to escape the scene on foot but was eventually subdued by authorities.
Jesus Romero, 18, was taken to Comal County Jail and faces several charges of hit-and-run, unlawful use of motor vehicle, evading authorities in a vehicle, and illegal possession of marijuana. Romero sustained no injuries during the crisis.
Both the Escape and blue Dodge Ram drivers were able to leave the crash scene.
